Kim Zahne or “Sah-Povi” is Tobacco clan (Sah-Towa/ Pipwungwa) from the Village of Tewa, and a member of the Hopi Tribe. Kim is currently the Program Specialist for the National Indigenous Resource Center. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in American Indian Studies, with an emphasis on Federal Indian Law, History, and Policy, from Arizona State University. Passionate about community, cultural ties, and family, Kim participates in her village's responsibilities and supports her in-laws as much as possible now that she has returned to their Native community. Zahne was also the Director of Training and Technical Assistance for the Hopi-Tewa Women’s Coalition to End Abuse, a tribal coalition, for nearly five years. Their role included providing training and technical assistance for agencies, programs, and organizations for the Hopi Nation in areas of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, stalking, and sex trafficking.
